Parfums by Pappi: A Journey of Scent, Struggle, and Self-Worth
It started with my partner’s love for perfumes.
He had a sharp nose for luxury scents—the ones that stay with you, make a quiet statement, and wrap you in confidence. But the truth is, most of those perfumes are expensive. Buying just one designer fragrance could set you back over a hundred dollars. For people like us, it’s not always practical.
But instead of letting that stop us, we got curious.
What made these scents feel so special? Could I recreate the same scent experience—without the luxury price?
That curiosity became obsession.
I started researching perfumery. How top, middle, and base notes work. Why some scents evaporate quickly while others last for hours. I studied blending ratios, fixatives, boosters, solvents. I tested oils, mixed batches, and refined each blend based on feel, feedback, and memory.
I didn’t expect to get this far.
TikTok and the Women Who Cheered Me On
While experimenting with blends, I posted some videos on TikTok—just simple clips. Mixing. Bottling. Talking about scent. And that’s when something unexpected happened.
Filipinas in Singapore, especially OFWs and moms, started reaching out. They told me how much they missed wearing perfume. How hard it is to treat themselves when they’re always thinking about the next remittance, their kids, their families back home.
They didn’t want just another perfume.
They wanted something personal.
A scent that says: “This is me. I matter too.”
That’s when Parfums by Pappi truly began.
Each Perfume Is Named After Someone Who Matters
Every scent I release carries a name of someone who supported me, inspired me, or reminded me why I started.
They’re not influencers or celebrities.
They’re real people with real struggles.
Many are moms, OFWs, working double shifts, carrying invisible burdens.
They deserve something made just for them.
Here’s who they are—through scent:
- Marites – A modern twist on Coco Mademoiselle: confident, warm, a little bold
- Ms. Fe – Lighthearted and dreamy, inspired by Britney’s Fantasy
- Jane – Soft but striking, with notes like Miss Dior
- Ayani – Alcohol-free, safe and gentle for those who want a clean, everyday scent
- Anne – Delicate, graceful, like J’adore
- Angelina – Sweet yet spicy, drawing from Good Girl
- Arianne – Complex and addictive, inspired by BR540
- Jiru – Aquatic and crisp, with Blu de Chanel notes
- Jo – Golden and strong, One Million-inspired
- Kiel – Light, fresh, and breezy like Acqua di Gio
- Poison – Romantic and floral, like Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede
- Luv Lee – Rich, deep, with Dior Addict vibes
- Ketchie – Spicy and masculine, based on Spicebomb
- JM – Confident and intense, Aventus-style
- Lance – Clean, rugged, and modern like Dior Sauvage
Each name holds a story.
Each bottle carries a soul.
For the People Who Keep Giving
Most of the women I made these scents for are mothers. Many are OFWs here in Singapore. They work, they send money home, they care for everyone else first.
They rarely take time for themselves.
So I created Parfums by Pappi not just to smell good, but to feel seen. To remind them—and maybe you—that you deserve more than just survival.
You deserve to feel beautiful.
To pause.
To smile at yourself in the mirror.
To remember who you are before the world asked you to be everything else.
Perfume does that.
It’s not luxury.
It’s therapy in a bottle.
It’s self-worth in a scent.
What Comes Next?
I still mix each batch myself with my partner sometimes.
Each one is made with intention, honesty, and care.
I test, adjust, improve—because it matters.
Parfums by Pappi isn’t trying to be the next big perfume brand.
It’s about people.
It’s about giving affordable access to scents that uplift.
And it’s about honoring the people who shaped me through something they can wear every day.
Who inspires your scent?
Would you wear a perfume named after someone close to you?
Or maybe—finally—a scent named after you?
Let’s tell your story.
One bottle at a time.
